A Comment About Comments

I guess I should have stated earlier that I never use "Anonymous" when writing comments on my own blogs.

Anyone can comment and anyone can provide their real name or another name or even "Anonymous".

If I find any comments so disgusting and offensive to me or others I copy and paste those comments on another one of my blogs and those types of comments won't appear on this blog, but they will appear on another blog.

Comments with 'facts' are welcome. I do take the responsibility of seeking to confirm all statements that are purported to be factual and I have commented on other blogs when I find someone stating as 'fact' something that I can't find confirmation for or have found that their 'fact' is really fiction or just a plain old lie.

Your opinion counts. I may not agree with your opinion but I won't keep it off this blog just because I don't happen to agree with your opinion. As long as you are, at least, a bit respectful, I will post whatever you write that is intended for this blog on this blog.

Another reason your opinion counts is that I still have absolutely no real idea what percentage of the registered voters of Rancho Palos Verdes approve of The Marymount Plan and/or may vote Yes on the ballot measure.

Naturally I think I am not alone one bit in my lack of knowledge of what potential voters really think. It doesn't matter what Dr. Brophy claims because he is most likely just as in the dark as most of us still are about the opinions of the voters in our city.

Your opinion also counts because you may be considering something I haven't considered fully and things I need to get more educated about. I know a lot about the various issues in our city, but I am no expert in any of them, unless you take into account my length of life here on the peninsula and my great number of adventures, learning, teachings, and interest in our city and The Hill.

Your opinion is important even if it shows that this blog is dominated by folks who oppose The Marymount Plan's on-campus housing issue and issues related to land use and attempts to have voters allow Marymount's administration to supersede municipal codes.

I do comment when I read comments that are in opposition to what I believe. I consider that, since this is my blog and anyone has the freedom and opportunity to start blogs of their own, I don't see any reason to remain silent on matters I disagree with when any of you can start your own blog.

So please, consider commenting on posts and comments to posts and anything else you wish.

One woman wrote to me after reading my Ponte Vista blog and said she used to live in one of the old duplexes when her father was stationed at the Coast Guard Station and she was asking if I thought she could get permission to visit her old home.

I hope Ms. Elise Swanson, the Vice President in charge of the site allows the woman a quick car trip behind the fences and past the goats to visit her old home. Ms. Swanson has been very gracious of late in allowing others to visit sites normally off limits and because someone found my blog and wrote to me, that person may get her wish granted.

So please comment if you wish. If you wish to just absorb what I write and that helps you decide to oppose the ballot measure for any reason including the fact that Marymount College has already been approved for a giant expansion via The Marymount College Facilities Expansion Project, approved by our City Council.

Thank you for visiting this blog.
