Bits and Pieces 16

Today should be the day some members of the community learn the reaction of the President/CEO of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Chamber of Commerce because of the vote to support Measure P, The Marymount Plan.

Several years ago the Chamber supported The Marymount College Facilities Expansion Project before Marymount voluntarily removed removed from consideration the two student residential halls the college wishes to build on its campus.

I agree with the Chamber's support of The Marymount College Facilities Expansion Project and I wish the Board would quickly return to supporting that Project it has supported for years.

As you can see below I had an interesting and entertaining weekend dealing with two different mailers and creating two new videos.

I do admit that the 'Sinclair Family' is a fictional family and none of them live in Rancho Palos Verdes, except the famous Miraleste Marauder, illustrated twice.

Traffic counts and new studies that will be reported in the new Environmental Impact Report for the Ponte Vista at San Pedro Development are under way.

It is hopeful that this new Traffic and Circulation Study will include information gathered and pertaining to The Marymount College Facilities Expansion Project's Traffic and Parking Study that was certified last April.

Now we have a better chance on the east side of Rancho Palos Verdes at learning what the approved and proposed Projects might do to traffic along Western Avenue.

I will provide more information when it becomes available.

Our Denny's is giving a 20% discount to diners who present their AARP cards at the register.

The petition drive to seek approval for keeping Denny's open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week continues.

We are now down to under one month before the Special Election. I need everyone to cast a vote of "No" on Measure P, The Marymount Plan.

On a future post I will publish the traffic counts that show that should Measure P pass, there would be a daily vehicle trip INCREASE on the east side of Rancho Palos Verdes.

In fact and complete truth, the projected number of daily vehicle trips to and from the Marymount College driveway INCREASED when Appendix D was studied.

Please vote "No" on Measure P, The Marymount Plan.

Safety. Everyone. Everywhere. Every hour.
