Having Fun On A Saturday Evening

TWO, that's right, 2 different cards came in the mail today for TWO (2) voters in a 2 (two) resident home.
Naturally I 'corrected' the misinformation and possibly deceptive wording on both of the mailers.
I don't begrudge Mr. LaPuma or the Slome Family one bit. I think they probably are caught up in the hype coming from the Marymount-baggers' statements and unsaid wording.
Everything that Mr. LaPuma wants for his soccer team has been approved already and it is Marymount that is holding up Mr. LaPuma's chances of coaching soccer players on a brand new field. The drawings, plans, and athletic facilities are just waiting to be built without any vote by any resident of Rancho Palos Verdes.
So it is also true that Mr. and Ms. Slome and their kids are waiting on Marymount College and not a single voter for the chance to enjoy a state-of-the-art library.
I can't imagine that when the younger Slomes head off to college they would stay in any student housing at Marymount College, should they choose to go there.
Here is an analogy that might help Mr. LaPuma and the Slome Family.
Measure S is attempt to make sure the Sun appears to rise from the east. The backers won't tell you they also want to control who gets to watch the Sun appearing to rise in the east and take away that right from the residents' representatives who elected them.
A long, long time ago, folks found out that the Sun appears to rise from the east every single day.
In fact, the backers of Measure S know the Sun appears to rise from the east but they want to tell everyone that if they don't support Measure S, the Sun won't rise from the east.
Since all approvals have already been granted and authorised for the Sun to appear to rise from the east on November 3, 2010, there is no reason to vote "Yes" on Measure S because the Sun will appear to rise from the east on November 3, 2010.
However, if Measure S passes, its backers will tell the city's residents that they will have to pay to watch the Sun appear to rise from the east because of a new code that will allow only them to control who gets to watch the Sunrise.
Yest it is a very simplistic analogy, but it actually fits with Measure P.
We know this because of folks like Mr. LaPuma and the Slomes and others who try to tell us that the only way to have built what they want built is to vote for Measure P and that is something that is factually untrue, except for one tiny, little point that is an assertion of mine.
All of the ads, mailers, and statements supporting Measure P indicate that items already approved for construction will be built because of the passage of Measure P.
If that is the real truth then it stands as fairly factual because of the growing evidence that should Measure P fail, NOTHING will be built by Marymount, INCLUDING all that has already been approved with The Marymount College Facilities Expansion Project which Mr. LaPuma and the Slome Family seem to support.
