Two wonderful students from Mary Star of the Sea High School found Cookie on the cliff adjacent to the baseball field at White Point.
That's right, White Point!
How she got from our front yard to White Point is a story Cookie can't share with us but she seems very happy to be home, but extremely exhausted.
Cookie's finders brought her to there home and one of the girl's mom drove them to the Harbor Animal Shelter, which was closed but Terri put up a small poster with our phone number.
Five minutes after the call ended, Cookie was wagging her tail as I picked her up.
There weren't words to express my appreciation to the students and the mom who brought Cookie to the shelter. They would not accept any reward so it looks like Cookie get one heck of a great professional bath and grooming.....plus a chip!
This was only Cookie's second personal adventure in the last 15 years. She has been on plenty of walks and has experienced being off leash on the eastern side of the Sierras so she loves to walk and walk and walk.
She is a very old dog but she taught us one he** of a new trick with her journey. It is one that she will not repeat, but she doesn't know that yet.
It's back to regular walks all over for us with the new walks like so many of the past walks, on a leash.
Now it is time for Cookie, Terri, and I to sleep again under the same roof and wish well all those who touched us with their care and concern.
