Bits and Pieces 19

How desperate is Marymount going to get in order to try and persuade intelligent voters to really ignore all the evidence and facts and still vote "Yes" on Measure P, The Marymount Plan?

It looks like they are not going to the local community jugular when it has been very clear and continues to be very clear that Marymount, by its Measure P, is really not interested in the local community for one simple reason:

Why would local prospective students live in dorms on Marymount's campus when they could live at home for so much less cost?

What benefits would it be to our community to have local residents living in dorms at Marymount if they will have cars and be able to come and go as they please 24/7?

The mere fact that Marymount wants dorms on campus is to attract NON LOCAL students and those students' parents' money and if you can't understand that, I don't feel you really know Measure P, The Marymount Plan as well as I think and hope you should.

We head into another week of wacky weather, it seems.

So many days of moisture in the air and the latest weather reports suggest two days of wind gusts up to 60 mph.

The east side of The Hill gets the warmest days in Rancho Palos Verdes along with fog, rain, wind and foul sounds and air from the port and refineries.

This is our lot in life for living on lots here on the east side, I guess.

Sundays are considered the first day of a new week by many so yesterday was the beginning of the last full week having to deal with events prior to the November 2 elections.

It is thought by some that after this coming election, State Senate seats may have their geographical areas changed somewhat and the seat John Stammerich is in the running for may end up being a seat R.P.V. voters may get, after replacing the seat now having Mr. Rod Wright as our State Senator.

I highly doubt we will see redistricting that would take away the peninsula from its current Congressional District and Congressman Dana Rohrabacher.

I do hope all registered voters on the east side and/or residing in other parts of Rancho Palos Verdes read all about the candidates and ballot measures and then use their democratic rights to vote for whomever they choose and for whatever Measure or Proposition they choose to support of oppose.

I don't vote in races that are uncontested and I won't vote for or against any judge I don't feel I have enough knowledge about.
