Bits and Pieces 17

Kamil Szybinski, James Little, 'Jojo', Dr. Michael Brohpy, Mr. Burt M. Arnold, Mr. Alexander Cappello, Ms.Kelly Curtis Intagliata, and Mr. Mark Wells are individuals whose names hold some type of connection to and about Marymount College, Palos Verdes.

I continue to strongly believe that when I use any of those names and any other name on this blog that I am not attacking them personally. I apologize to all if that is what they feel but I believe any feeling that I am attacking them personally is misdirected.

What I have done and will continue to do is question, comment, and deal with the positions and occurrences surrounding individuals I name in this blog.

I bet everyone of the people named above are well loved or were well loved and fondly remembered for the good people they are or were.

My 'agenda' if you will is to deal with the safety issues about placing on-campus student housing at Marymount College first and foremost on this blog.

Secondly, I am extremely concerned about the potential of a new set of municipal codes established for one business at the expense of every other business and every single resident of Rancho Palos Verdes.

Along with the two items mentioned above, I am more than disgusted, appalled, and contemptuous about all the misinformation, misleading advertisements, false and deceptive practices being conducted associated with Marymount's attempts to secure the rights to construct dorms on the campus.

I will call out the positions of individuals and one way I do that is by providing their names. But I do not question who they are or were and what they did or do on most subjects other than Marymount College-related items.

I also do not specifically attack the affiliation that Marymount has, but it is a fact that is still a fact that others might use. I simply state Marymount's religious affiliation as it confronts how I feel religious institutions should act and represent.

I continue to see what can only be considered a deliberate and continuing attempt to mislead potential voters using fiction over facts and 'Yes' on P marketers and supporters unwilling to reveal the truth and the whole truth.

What so many fail to understand is that it is becoming quite clear and will probably become public knowledge, as well it should, that Marymount College would need approval to build dorms for that College to be able to provide anything else.

In fact, it has been one of my assertions for some time that is finally seeing the light of day on a still-far-too-limited basis, that ONLY IF Marymount can acquire the rights to build dorms will it build anything else, if it builds anything else.

It is common knowledge among those who are most informed and educated about The Marymount Plan that the only way enough funding can be provided to build anything at Marymount is via approval for dorm construction.

This is tantamount to confirming that on-campus housing at Marymount College is first and foremost a revenue generation machine seemingly having little or nothing to do with traffic or parking or anything other than making money for the school.

Marymount representatives haven't come out and told you that directly, but they have done it repeatedly 'between the lines' of their advertisements.

The evidence is clear and quite convincing and if only Marymount would acknowledge what so many of us know, that just might affect some fence-sitting voters.

Please don't get be wrong, on campus student house at Marymount would be unsafe, no matter what and no matter any reasoning!

The latest reports about our Cookie have her being seen around 1st. and Walker yesterday afternoon.

We still haven't seen her but we are hopeful we will have someone call us or we will find her in the pound.

Thank you all so much for your concern. She is 15 and on her second journey away from us in her life. She knows where she lives when she in a block away, but she is too far away now to remember how to get home.

The Ponte Vista at San Pedro Traffic and Circulation practical studies are either near their end or have very recently ended. It will take some months to learn what is contained in the new Environmental Impact Report.
