No On P Facebook Group

If you are a Facebook member and you oppose passage of Meausre P and adoption of The Marymount Plan for any reason, please join a newer Facebook Group, "No on P".

I linked the group down to the left of this post. You can click on the link or click on: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=146719098685475&ref=ts

The host of the group has begun a list of groups that oppose Measure P, The Marymount Plan.

The groups listed below have voted unanimously to oppose Measure P and I am including a note for one group stating why it is listed.

- Rancho Palos Verdes City Council (5 members - 3 Republicans & 2 Democrats)

- RPV Planning Commission (7 RPV resident members)

- All 7 Candidates from the last City Council race

- RPV Council of Homeowners Assoc. (50 HOA’s over 8,000 residents)
NOTE* A total of 15 homeowner association group representatives voted regarding Measure P, The Marymount Plan. All 15 votes were to oppose the measure. Not all HOAs allow votes of this type and not all 50 HOAs were represented at the time the votes were cast.
Of the 15 HOAs that had a representative vote on the individual group's stand concerning Measure P, The Marymount Plan, no vote was cast supporting the measure or the plan.

- League of Women Voters (8 Board Members)

- 54th CA Assembly Republican Central Committee

- Republican Party of LA County, (RPLAC)
-------------------------------------------------------------
I did some fact checking with someone knowledgeable about the Republican Party of LA County, (RPLAC). The person who provided the information to me is a respected Republican by me and others and I have no doubt that the information provided is truthful, honest, and extremely reliable.

The Republican Party of LA County has been given the authority by the National Republican Party to make votes and take stands that will be accepted as being legitimate positions of the Republican Party and has the backing of the Republican National Committee.

It is a reasonable and realistic statement that; With the unanimous vote by the Republican Party of LA County, not only does that group oppose passage of Measure P, The Marymount Plan, the whole of the organized Republican Party endorses the vote taken by the Republican Party of LA County and the official position of the Republican Party is to oppose passage of Measure P, The Marymount Plan.

I do not know if the Republican Party endorsed or opposed passage of The Marymount College Facilities Expansion Project but the three Republicans who claim membership in that Party and also serve as City Councilmen, voted for The Marymount College Facilities Expansion Project.

It really must be a very big deal when someone with my political views sits side by side with The Republican Party on any issue.

I do not have any current information as to the official position of the Democratic Party on either a local entity, a county-wide or State-wide or National Committee stand.

While I think there are many Democrats who favor having on-campus student housing at Marymount, I do not think a vote has been taken by any group affiliated with the Democratic Party.

If I learn that a vote has been taken, I will certainly publish the results from the vote, no matter what the vote is.

Yours truly favors on-campus student housing at almost every College or University, but for safety reasons, not at Marymount's main campus.

I hope those of you who agree with any stand taken in opposition to Measure P, The Marymount Plan, will join the Facebook page and provide your opinions, information, facts, and comments that others might read to help them learn the truth about Measure P, The Marymount Plan.

* I am not the person in charge of the No on P Facebook page. I have offered comments and if the person who 'owns' the group on Facebook wishes to identify herself or himself, I really have no opinion one way or the other on that.*
