Palos Verdes Peninsula News

Ms. Ashley Ratcliff wrote an excellent article about the two lawsuits now going through the court system in today's Palos Verdes Peninsula News.

The long article is not yet available on the paper's Web site: http://www.pvnews.com/
so until it is published on the site, I urge all registered voters residing in Rancho Palos Verdes to either head to a newsstand to buy a copy of the paper or look in the driveway to see if a copy is currently covering a portion of the front yard.

Richard Grotz, a member of Marymount's Board of Trustees had his letter to the editor published in the paper, as well.

It is the exact same letter as Trustee Grotz received publication of in yesterday's Daily Breeze And what I will call his 'innocent omission' of his membership on the Board of Trustees was noted by me.

Ms. Ratcliff named "Dick Grotz" as one of the parties of record in Jeffrey Lewis' lawsuit, in her article.

Dr. Timothy Scully, the President of a homeowners' group wrote a letter of apparent condemnation of a bit of events relating to Marymount College by the President and other members of the Council of Homeowners' Associations, CHOA, for short.

Dr. Scully believes that the determinations by CHOA to oppose ballot measure P and offer support for Save Our City III was done without real voting by members present during the meeting where Dr. Scully feels, CHOA's President, Mr. Jon Cartwright, may have done some bad things concerning lack of discussion and lack of members' voting to support Save Our City III.

Dr. Scully may have a point, in my view. I will very likely learn both sides of the story in the not to distant future.

Because I certainly do not approve of just about everything Marymount's officials and their paid representatives have done in the campaign to get on-campus housing approved at the campus, I must learn all sides of the story and offer the truth rather than simply stating a 'myth', then offering what Marymount reps call 'facts'.

I went ahead and forwarded my reply to Mr. Grotz's letter in yesterday' Daily Breeze to opinion editor of The Palos Verdes Peninsula News. My letter to that person began by mentioning yesterdays letter by Mr. Grotz that is identical to the one in today's paper.
